Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is a process that has
been known through traditional Christianity for hundreds of years. The
individual and the Spiritual Director work together to help the individual
grow in spiritual maturity and discernment. Spiritual direction need not
be a solely religious or Christian experience. Spirituality moves beyond
religious denomination and honors the philosophy and mystical experiences
of the participant. Such techniques as prayer, meditation practices, scriptural
or inspired readings, dream analysis, symbol interpretation, and assigned
spiritual rituals and practices are used to help the individual develop
a closer and deeper relationship with God.
Sacraments & Rituals
SFor individuals and families who would like an
interdenominational approach to sacraments and spiritual rituals, Reverend
Judith McLean is available to perform marriages (see wedding officiation),
child blessings and child naming ceremonies, funerals, memorial services,
house blessings, and other requested ministerial services. Reverend McLean
is an ordained interdenominational minister and a member of the International
Council of Community Churches.
